Old and Long-Married

So, yesterday was our anniversary. I didn't remember it was our anniversary until I was at the checkout and writing the date on my check. So then I had to go to the dollar store and buy a card. While I was at it, I decided to buy my honey some gifts. You can't get A gift at a dollar store. Wow, honey, look, I spent a whole buck! So, I bought wood shims, duct tape, a key chain that says, Be Mine, and a package of two cord winders (for extension cords, etc.). So, I spent $6. $4 for the gifts, $1 for the gift bag, and $1 for the card. When I got home, John dug out the card he bought for me last year but didn't give me, cuz I didn't give him one last year, and then gave it to me. That's what happens when you've been married 22 years. At least we're still compatible.

    I only hope if I ever get married again to, after 22 years, still have the kind of fire and passion that exists in your marriage.

    Happy Anniversary, you two! Guess I didn't realize that both the kids were in their terrible teens now, but it makes sense when you do the math. Sorry we didn't make it to the dollar store for you, maybe next year.
